Michael Wray
Michael Wray is the Director of Technology at the Alamo City Golf Trail and based out of the San Pedro Golf Academy. Michael speaks nationally, conducts seminars, consults with PGA & LPGA Top 100 instructors, and works with current touring professionals, college teams and competitive junior players. Michael is formerly the Director of Instruction at the Austin Golf Institute, Instructor for the Golf Channel Academy, Director of Education in North America for Smart2Move, an international golf assessment equipment company, former Division I college player and Founder of Biometric Sports AG, a testing and assessment company. Michael is a Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 Junior Coach, BioSwing Dynamics Certified Level 1 Instructor, Swing Catalyst Certified Level 2 Instructor, Wright Balance Certified Instructor, Edel Golf Certified Fitter and approved PXG Fitter. Michael focuses on making players better, faster, longer. To make players better faster and increase longevity, Michael specializes in short game instruction, player development and developed Biometric Fitting. Biometric Fitting fits the swing to the body & the club to the swing. A player whose swing fits their body, and whose club fits their swing can expect to get more out of their swing with less effort and less chance of injury - the concept of "More with Less". More distance, more accuracy, more repeatability and ideally more longevity. Many players possess natural swings with athleticism and coordination, but aren't reaching their full potential because of setup positions and equipment that don't fit their natural swing. Biometric Fitting uses a 21-Point Assessment to determine a player's ideal setup, a 6-point Assessment to determine a player's swing type, and a 13-point Assessment to determine a player's ideal equipment specifications. From these assessments, the swing is fit to the body and the club to the swing. Michael graduated from the University of Texas in 1993 with a degree in Business, is happily married to San Antonio native Krista Walker Wray and have 5 children ages 2 to 14.
